Android 15 has reached the platform’s stability phase with the release of Beta 3 this week. This means we are in the final stages of development and getting closer to the official release. The upcoming operating system is sure to be an exciting upgrade. It is confirmed to bring many new features and improvements such as Private Space, anti-theft lock, app archiving, app pairing and more.
Unfortunately, many Android devices, including Realme phones, will not be updated to Android 15. If you have a Realme device, check the list of ineligible devices below to see if you need to update to a newer model.

[Серія Realme Narzo]
[Серія Realme C]
This is definitely not an official list. We prepared it by analyzing the company’s software update policy and past operating system update releases. Realme provides good software support for its smartphones. Newer GT flagship phones get 3 years of OS updates and four years of security patches. However, older GT models only receive two operating system updates.
Three OS updates doesn’t sound like much when competitors like Samsung and Google have been rolling out OS updates for seven years. Even Realme’s subsidiaries OnePlus and Oppo have started rolling out four OS updates for their flagships.
While the numbered Realme series phones usually receive two OS updates, the budget Narzo and C series receive only one. However, the company has started offering two upgrades for the new Narzo models.
We will take a closer look at Realme software support in another article. But let’s stop at Android 15 for now.
Following two developer releases earlier this year, Google announced several beta versions of Android 15, allowing users to try the new operating system early. Beta 3 was recently released, marking the beginning of the stability phase of the platform.
The platform stability phase is the final stage of development before the new operating system is released to the public. This is where Google fixes existing bugs/issues and puts the finishing touches to make it ready for the stable release.
We already have the official Android 15 timeline, but it doesn’t show when the stable build will arrive. However, it is similar to last year’s Android 14 release schedule. So if things continue like this, Android 15 should be released in early October.
If you have Realme 12 Pro+ 5G, you can install the Android 15 beta to get access to the new operating system before the official release. However, keep in mind that beta versions may contain bugs and some features may be missing. The beta program will be expanded to more Realme devices in the coming weeks, allowing more users to join the program.
Realme launched the Android 14 beta program in May last year (the same month as the Android 15 beta), and it took around six months for the first stable version to be released. I hope this situation will be fixed with Android 15.
1. Preventing detection of theft: This is one of the most useful additions of Android 15. When someone steals your phone and tries to escape, the phone detects this movement and instantly locks the screen. The phone will automatically lock itself even if it detects suspicious activity, such as multiple failed login attempts or repeated attempts to turn off the phone.
More interestingly, this new feature prevents the device from being set up again with a different Google account. So, if you don’t have your Google account credentials, the phone is useless.
2. Program pairs: Android 15 will allow users to save their favorite split-screen combinations for faster access. A shortcut will be created on the home screen to instantly open both apps in split-screen mode.
The official website suggests that this feature is only available for large screen devices such as tablets. But let’s not lose hope and keep our fingers crossed that it will be released for smartphones as well.
3. Private area: It protects your sensitive files and applications with an extra layer of security. This is similar to the secure folder on Samsung phones.
This new feature creates a separate space hidden from the regular space where you can keep your top-secret apps and files. Apps you use in Private Space will not appear in the recent apps section. Additionally, all downloads are stored in the most private area.
4. Partial screen sharing: Another useful feature in Android 15 is partial screen sharing. This allows users to share or record a single app instead of the entire screen.
5. Archiving applications: It allows you to decompress applications to save memory while saving user data. Until now, this feature was limited to apps installed from the Play Store, but Android 15 integrates this feature at the operating system level, allowing you to archive/restore all apps, including those installed outside the Play Store.
6. Improved health connectivity: The new operating system includes new types of data about fitness, nutrition and more. Beta 2 includes skin temperature and training plans as additional data types.
7. Charging notifications: This new feature reduces the volume, preventing users from being overwhelmed by repeated notifications from the same application.
This feature was first seen in Android 15 DP1 but was later removed in Android 15 Beta 1. However, Google is expected to bring this feature back in the latest Android 15 version.
