Last month, Google introduced Android 15 at the Google I/O developer conference. At the conference, many brands, including Xiaomi, announced that they would participate in the Android 15 test.
Android 15 is currently in beta testing for the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13T Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4, allowing users to get an early look at the upcoming operating system. These three devices are guaranteed to receive the Android 15 update as soon as it becomes available. However, many Xiaomi users are unsure about the possibility of updating their devices.
In this article, I have listed Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco phones and tablets that are unlikely to receive the Android 15 update. Check out the list below to see if you need to upgrade to a newer model to access the latest features and improvements. .

This is far from the final list. We have compiled it after reviewing the company’s software update policy and previous versions. The final list may change, but it will not differ much from ours. So, if your device is not on the list, don’t panic and wait for the official list to appear.
Xiaomi’s lack of a clear software update policy for its smartphones and tablets confuses many people. The company generally offers 2 major operating system updates for most of its devices. However, the latest high-end and GT series models are eligible for three operating system updates.
Android 15: What to expect?
Google recently announced Android 15 beta 3. The operating system that will come with this version has reached platform stability, which is the last step before presenting a stable structure to the public. According to reports, Android 15 will be released in October.
Here are the main operating system features and improvements:
1. Anti-theft lock
If someone snatches your phone and runs away, the device detects this movement and instantly locks the screen, preventing your device from being misused.
The device will lock even if it detects suspicious activity, such as repeated attempts to turn off the phone or multiple failed login attempts. Best of all, after a factory reset, another person will need to use the same Google account to set up the device. Otherwise, the device will become unusable.
2. Private space
Android 15 has a private space feature to protect apps and files you don’t want others to access. It uses a separate user profile and allows you to set a different blocking rate for better protection.
Everything you do in the private area will not be visible to the other area. The apps don’t even show up in the recent apps section. And all your downloads in the private area stay there.
3. Program pairs
If you use split-screen apps a lot, you’ll love the app mappings in Android 15. This allows you to create a shortcut for your favorite split-screen combination that will open with a single tap.
4. Satellite connection support
Android 15 “expands platform support for satellite connectivity.” It adds some UI elements to provide a consistent user experience.
The operating system supports SMS and MMS applications, as well as pre-installed RCS applications that use satellite connectivity to send and receive messages. This also means that satellite messages in Android 15 will not be limited to emergencies only. Additionally, Android 15 applications can detect when a device is connected to a satellite.
5. Partial screen sharing
If you show your screen or record your screen, the video will show everything on your screen, including the things you don’t want to show. Android 15 takes this a step further by introducing partial screen sharing. This feature will allow you to share your screen or record a single app instead of the entire screen.
