The next generation of Samsung’s flagship foldable smartphone is set to be announced soon, and it looks like a Chinese version is also in the works. The Samsung W25 was recently spotted at a major certification event in China.

The South Korean tech giant is set to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 next week. These are expected to be renamed as Samsung W25 and W25 Flip in China. However, before any official announcement is made, the Samsung W25 has been spotted with 3C certification. The upcoming foldable phone has entered the online database with the model number SM-W9025. The charger has also appeared on the platform with the model number EP-TA800, confirming support for 25W wired fast charging.

So, the charging speed has not improved compared to its predecessor, the Samsung W24. The 3C certification does not reveal any other detailed details about the W25 series, but we can expect the release schedule to be slightly delayed compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. The latest-generation Samsung W24 series was launched in China in September 2023. So, we can expect the W24 series to follow a similar release schedule. Based on what we know about the Galaxy Z Fold 6, we can say that the new flagship foldable device will have a thinner and lighter design.

There could even be a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood. Like the Z Fold 6, it should also feature dual displays. This includes a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x main display, while the external display will feature a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display. For those who don’t know, the Samsung W series is exclusive to China, and this model will likely continue the brand’s partnership with China Telecom.
