Honor has confirmed that its upcoming Magic V3 foldable phone will be unveiled on July 12. The previous day, real images and samples of the device’s cameras appeared on Chinese social media platform Weibo, courtesy of tipster WhyLab.
The phone comes in orange with a faux leather back and gold camera frame, and white with a glass panel and silver camera frame. The foldable device will also be available in black and green.
The tipster also showed off the phone’s slim profile, both folded and unfolded. When unfolded, the Honor Magic V3 is said to be the world’s thinnest foldable device. It will take that title from the Magic V2, which currently holds the record at 9.9mm. This is thanks in part to the new battery, which packs 10% more silicon, making the Magic V3 4.4% thinner than its predecessor.
Moving on, another image shows the notch of the Magic V3 and the predictor is that users will barely notice it while using the device.
In a separate post on Weibo, WhyLab also shared camera samples of the Honor Magic V3. We’ve included some of those images below for you to take a closer look. Alternatively, you can check out the full samples here.
While the company hasn’t revealed all the camera details of the Magic V3, it is said to feature a periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. Under the hood, the phone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a battery with a capacity of around 5000mAh, and support for 66W fast charging. Honor has also created the Honor E1 chip that optimizes power management on the Magic V3. The chip reportedly maximizes power efficiency to extend battery life.
According to the report, the foldable device will also support two-way satellite connectivity. We expect to learn more details in the coming days before the official launch on July 12.
