Android 15 is in the final stages of development. Last month, the upcoming operating system reached platform stability with the release of beta 3. Beta version 3.1 went live recently and fixed some issues with the lock screen and face authentication.
Oppo offers a beta program that allows its users to install early versions of the operating system before the stable release, and this year is no different. The Oppo Find N3 has been selected for the Android 15 beta this time around, but the beta testing program will expand to more devices in the coming weeks.
Android 15 is an exciting update, but many Oppo devices are not compatible with it. Check the list below to see if you need to upgrade to a newer model to benefit from the latest features and improvements.

Oppo, like all other Android brands, has not yet released a list of phones that will or will not be updated to Android 15. So, this is an unofficial list based on past versions.
Oppo’s software update policy promises four Android updates for its new flagship phones, while older phones only get three. The Reno, F and K series models get two OS updates.
The company’s budget A-series models usually receive one Android update. However, some models get two. Oppo doesn’t reveal the names of these devices. Therefore, the Oppo A-series phones that come with Android 13 out of the box are not included in the list above. We won’t know about them until the official rollout schedule is released.
Hot on the heels of Google unveiling Android 15 at its Google I/O developer conference in May, Oppo has announced that it has joined the beta testing. The Oppo Find N3 is the company’s first phone to receive the Android 15 beta, allowing users to get an early taste of the upcoming operating system.
Android 15 beta will be rolling out to more Oppo phones in the coming weeks. So when will the stable build arrive?
Android 15 is in the final stages of development as the platform has already entered the stable phase. It may reach a stable version soon.
The upcoming Pixel 9 series is expected to be the first to get Android 15. Interestingly, Google has scheduled a “Made by Google” event on August 13 to announce the Pixel 9 series. This means that Android 15 could be released in August. Usually, a new Android OS is released in September or October.
The first to receive the new OS updates was the Google Pixel, after which other smartphone brands including Oppo are gradually rolling them out to their own devices.
Every version of Android is called a major update, but Android 15 is a truly major update. It brings some major new features and improvements that you will be eagerly waiting for.
1. Anti-theft lock
If someone snatches your phone and runs away, the device detects this movement and instantly locks the screen, preventing your device from being misused.
The device will even lock down if it detects suspicious activity, such as repeated attempts to turn off the phone or multiple failed attempts to sign in. Best of all, another person will need to use the same Google account to set up the device after a factory reset, otherwise the device will be unusable.
2. Private area
Android 15 has a private space feature to protect apps and files that you don’t want others to access. It uses a separate user profile and lets you set a different blocking rate for better protection.
Everything you do in private space will be invisible to the other space. Even apps won’t show up in the recent apps section. And all your downloads in private space will stay there.
3. Program pairs
If you use split-screen apps a lot, you’ll love app pairing in Android 15. It lets you create a shortcut to open your favorite split-screen combination with a single tap.
4. Satellite connection support
Android 15 “expands platform support for satellite connectivity.” It adds some UI elements to ensure a consistent user experience.
The operating system supports SMS and MMS apps, as well as pre-installed RCS apps that use satellite connectivity to send and receive messages. This means satellite messaging in Android 15 isn’t just limited to emergencies. Android 15 apps can also detect when a device is connected to a satellite.
5. Partial screen sharing
If you show your screen or record your screen, the video will show everything on your screen, including the things you don’t want to show. Android 15 takes this a step further by introducing partial screen sharing. This feature will allow you to share your screen or record a single app instead of the entire screen.
