The CMF Phone 1 costs 239 euros. Yes, it is possible that you have not heard of this brand before, that its design is a bit strange and that it lacks add-ons such as wide-angle or stereo speakers. But believe us when we say that we are facing one of those mobile phones that should be kept in mind. Because when we say “mid-range” we completely lose our way.
There was a time not so long ago when the current Redmi was priced at just over 200 euros. Now they are around 400 euros. This is a phenomenon of “premiumization” of the middle class.
Finally, something different. Fortunately, Nothing hasn’t gotten carried away and is clearly determined to differentiate itself. We’ve seen it with its headphones, and now we’ve moved it to our phones. CMF is coming to disrupt the market by driving down prices.
The CMF Phone 1 has just been released but we have been testing it for days at Xataka. It is too early to analyze but it looks very good.
It has all the basic information we may need in 2024. It is worth examining what the CMF Phone 1 offers us. It is nothing special but it meets the basics of a good, beautiful and cheap mobile phone. It is 2024 and although artificial intelligence is very striking and designs are getting better and better, many users will just want a functional mobile phone.
120 Hz AMOLED screen, 5,000 mAh, 50 megapixel camera and MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. To get an idea of what it means to add this chipset, we are talking about a 4 nanometer SoC that we find in mobiles such as the OPPO Reno 12 or the Motorola Razr 50.
Of course, these two models are much more complete and offer many improvements beyond the chip. But the Reno, for example, costs 549 euros. If you just want a fast and efficient mobile phone, the CMF Phone 1 has an unbeatable price.
It’s not just hardware, it’s also clean software. What Nothing boasts about the CMF Phone 1 is not just the hardware. It is also a clean software that does not put more pressure on the system. Like Motorola’s legendary Moto G or OnePlus at its inception, the CMF Phone 1 wants to stand out with its speed. And in the 200 euro price range, there is currently nothing like it.
239 euros is a price that is no longer seen. That Moto G came out for 179 euros. That was 2013. A year later, the OnePlus One did the same with a starting price of 269 euros. 239 euros is a much easier range to recommend than the 549 euros of the Realme GT6 or the 449 euros of the POCO F6. Yes, we are talking about mobiles that aim to be high-end. But in practice, what many users are looking for is for their mobiles to “go fast”.
We can look at POCO and Xiaomi, two of the leading manufacturers in terms of quality-price. What options do we have? POCO M6 Pro for 229 euros or POCO X6 for 299 euros. The M6 Pro comes with the Helio G99 while the X6 adds the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The latter offers similar results to the MediaTek chipset.
Cheap even for the Nothing itself. Tests with the Dimensity 7300 put it very close to the 7200, but even with the Nothing itself we see how much lower the price of the CMF Phone 1 is. The Nothing Phone 2a costs 329 euros.
Every mobile phone has its own characteristics, but the mid-range market has long wanted a simple and extremely cheap mid-range model like the CMF Phone 1. A bestseller that invests in clean software and gives the big phone manufacturers a hard time. Because competition is always welcome and the CMF Phone 1 has many tricks up its sleeve to be among the summer recommendations.
199 euros. As if that weren’t enough, the CMF Phone 1 has just been released and is already discounted to 199 euros. There’s a new contender ready to break the mold in the mid-range fray.
