The first phone of Nothing’s new sub-brand, the CMF Phone 1, is a breath of fresh air. Finally, a mobile phone for less than 200 euros (in Amazon flash deals) that can be recommended with almost no hesitation. Almost certainly, although the lack of NFC or FM radio is not something to discuss at the moment.
It was discovered that nothing was publicly available with the exact dimensions of the cases and the STL file with the 3D design. This opens up something great: anyone can print their own case.
The highlight of the CMF Phone 1 is its replaceable back. You simply unscrew four screws to remove it and replace it with any of the ones the company sells. The minor downside is that there aren’t many colors to choose from at the moment.
Designer DeerenGoneDigital shared a brutalist mint green case concept inspired by Pokémon cards in the X. It turns out that CMF has made the hive plans public, and anyone can create their own hives.
A few hours ago, Carl Pei shared on the social network the first 3D printed case for this phone. It is a rather primitive version, but it opens the door for other creators to try this phone.
We believe that we will see all kinds of interchangeable covers for this phone, which is a proposal focused on the geek world. It is also quite clear that we will encounter small stores where we can get our hands on it.
