OnePlus is working on a phone with a huge battery

OnePlus recently released Nord CE 4 Liteand is also preparing to present North 4. However, it looks like another mid-range smartphone with a massive battery is in the works. OnePlus has breached the 6,000mAh barrier in the past and now the brand could be introducing a device with a 7,000mAh battery.

OnePlus phone with powerful 7000mAh battery

The news comes from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station who shared the information on Weibo. The leak claims that Ouga Group is working on a 7000mAh battery. For those who don’t know, Ouga Group is a joint R&D lab of OnePlus and Oppo. The largest battery found in any OnePlus phone was the Ace 3 Pro which housed a hefty 6,100mAh battery.

However, the upcoming phone with such a large battery is not part of the brand’s flagship series or its flagship series. Rather, it will be launched as a mid-range phone. Digital Chat Station adds that the phone is still in development. In other words, there is still some time left until the launch. Considering that this is a mid-range model, it should be part of the company’s popular Nord series. But for now, this is just speculation.

The insider claimed that this is not just a 7,000mAh phone, but Ouga could also be working on a 6,500mAh cell for another smartphone. This model is expected to use a new battery technology that uses silicon materials. The Glacier Battery technology includes a silicon-carbon anode that provides 23.1 percent higher energy density compared to graphite batteries. This means the battery could be smaller for the same capacity. That’s all the information we have right now, so stay tuned for updates.
