But the Corvette, diving into the left turn, manages to pull ahead and pull off an unlikely victory. Yes, the old 1996 car did manage to beat Tesla’s all-new Cybertruck.

The Cybertruck weighs a few tons more than the aging Corvette, which is perhaps its downside. Of course, if this were a drag race, the stainless steel beast would outpace the Corvette, accelerating from zero to 60 in less than three seconds. The Corvette’s 5.7-liter V8 is much slower by comparison.

Tesla exaggerates Cybertruck’s capabilities

Interestingly, during the Cybertruck launch in previous years, Tesla showed a video of its truck winning a similar race against the Porsche 911, which has been in production since 1963. At the same time, the Cybertruck was also dragging a cargo behind it – the same Porsche 911 that increased its weight.

It’s unclear what year the pickup truck competed in that race, but it doesn’t matter because similar tests later conducted by independent experts at Motortrend showed that Tesla had cheated in the race.

It is worth noting that the powerful marketing of the Cybertruck promised many incredible opportunities for the electric pickup truck, but when it appeared, users faced a difficult reality: the car constantly breaks down, is far from being as durable and strong as the manufacturer promised, which can lead to injuries and other troubles.

Despite everything, the Cybertruck is still a favorite in the US for a reason, selling well, with some even buying a second copy after the first one failed.
