Motorola’s finally released the Android 13 update for its smartphone Edge 20 FusionIt came out much later than many competitors. The 1.64 GB update includes features such as app tweaks, a revamped media player, and detailed notification controls.
After the update, you’ll notice several improvements to the Android operating system and apps. Personalisation options have been expanded, allowing you to further customise the phone. You can now stylise your app icons to match your wallpaper, accessed by tapping and holding on an empty space on your home screen and selecting Personalise.
The Moto Widget on your home screen has been updated with a new, expandable version of Adapt that lets you add and display more information. To revert to an older version or choose a different one, drag the existing widget to the top of the screen and drag it to Remove. Then, press and hold on the home screen, go to Widgets, select the Moto Widget, and drag the version you want to the home screen.
Settings changes include the ability to set supported apps to use a language other than your phone’s default language. You also get more control over notifications and privacy with the ability to customize notification permissions for each app and limit photo and video sharing.
The Gestures menu has moved from its previous location at Settings > System > Gestures to Settings > Gestures, making it easier to turn gestures on or off. These updates provide improved control and customization options.
While this update is good news for Edge 20 Fusion users, it also highlights Motorola’s slow pace of software updates. Other manufacturers are already testing beta versions of Android 15, making Motorola’s approach seem slow. Ultimately, this is likely to be the last update the Edge 20 Fusion will receive since it launched with Android 11 in 2021.
