XDA Developers also reports that Apple is internally testing the iPhone with the USB-C interface. Apple’s MacBook and iPad are now equipped with a USB-C connector, so its appearance on the iPhone is awaited.
Yesterday, representatives of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament decided that by autumn 2024, USB-C will become a common charging port for all electronic devices in the region.
Cell phones, tablets, e-books, headsets, digital cameras, VR headsets, handheld game consoles, and portable speakers that can be charged via cable should have a USB-C port, regardless of manufacturer. Laptops must also comply with the requirements within 40 months of going into effect. Source
