Google has Super Actua display and new design
According to Google, the new Super Actua panels “the brightest panels on the market”The Pixel 9 Pro features two OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and a FullHD+ resolution in a 20:9 ratio. The “compact” model measures 6.34 inches (barely distinguishable from the Pixel 9 at 6.3 inches). The XL model stays at Google’s usual 6.73 inches.
This Super Actua panel comes with the following this year: 15% thinner bezelsAllowing for a larger screen size in the same body as the Pixel 8, Google adds Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection, which promises twice the resistance compared to the Pixel 8.
At the design level, the Pixel 9 Pro has ditched the entire rear camera module and no longer covers the entire back, although it still has an elongated horizontal design. The finish is metallic and offers IP68 certification water and dust resistance.
Inside, it adds the new Google Tensor G4 processor, manufactured at 4 nanometers. This is an update of the previous Tensor G3, which promises up to 20% improvement in web browsing, 17% faster speed when opening apps, and more efficiency when taking photos and watching streaming content.
Based on initial testing, this is not a significant power increase. We chose it to improve performance. Increase RAM memory up to 16GBAccording to Google, this increase in memory allows for more efficient use of the latest AI models with Tensor G4.
As for the battery, we have 4,700 mAh and 5,060 mAh for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL respectively, and we also have a 30W fast charge that promises to top up to 70% in 30 minutes. In terms of biometrics, the Pixel 9 Pro includes: New ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader.
Seven years of system updates
The Pixel 9 Pro will run Android 15. Google also promises that they will get seven years of security and system updates.
At the level of AI-related functions, Google Tensor G4 promises to be able to manage 45 coins per secondIn this sense, it is the most advanced processor to date. This capability will serve to deliver Gemini Nano with higher precision.
Not only will it feature more advanced AI natively, but the Pixel 9 Pro will also be the first device to feature Gemini Live, a multi-mode feature that can present images or audio and get AI responses.
Some of the AI-powered applications these new terminals offer include an improved image editor, better video stabilization, and the ability to make lists and get summaries.
Big leap in camera on the front
The main innovation on the Pro this year is not the rear camera but the front camera. The Pixel 9 Pro adds a new main sensor 42 megapixel front with 30% better sensitivity and a 103-degree wide-angle viewing angle that makes group selfies easy.
On the back we see a configuration similar to that of the Pixel 8 Pro; it has a triple camera with a 50-megapixel main sensor and f/1.68 aperture. A 48-megapixel telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a 48-megapixel wide-angle.
For video, the Pixel 9 Pro features improved stability through AI and allows recording up to 8K at 30 fps. And not only that: it also lets you enhance videos recorded at lower resolutions and convert them to 8K with Video Optimizer.
Among the photo functions, the new “Include me” option, which will be released in preview with Pixel 9 and does not allow anyone to be left behind, stands out
without being in the photo. Take a group photo, change photographers, and take another one.
Pixel combines both photos.
