Although foldable phone sales continue to increase year on year, they continue to represent a marginal part of the sector. Huawei is the main protagonist, leaving Samsung behind and positioning itself as the first manufacturer in this region.

Samsung’s Mate’s commercial success fell by 42%, an indication that the continuity in the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 (according to this data) did not work at the sales level.

What seemed like a slightly exaggerated rumor has already taken shape. Since the end of last year, there has been talk of a double-hinged tri-fold phone from Huawei. A curious solution that would allow access to a 10-inch panel, the largest ever seen on a foldable device.

Huawei Triple Folding

-supposed- confusion (Some of the leaked photos are taken with Huawei phones), Huawei CEO Richard Yu has been photographed using a device in which this triple folding is visible. In the images with the mobile closed, we find a tri-fold phone with a module very similar to that of the Huawei Mate X5, with a big difference in the appearance of the upper part of the body.

Folding

When you open it up, you see that the device is the height of a normal mobile phone but the width of two other phones. With a total panel of around 10 inches when opened, the trio of phones look much more like a tablet than its direct rivals.

There’s currently no news on a possible release date, although with any luck we hope to see it at IFA in Berlin next September.
