What happened

Monterey Car Week is one of the most anticipated car events in the USA, dedicated to classic cars, luxury cars and motorsports. The festival takes place on the Monterey Peninsula in California. It features more than a week of non-stop car shows, memorabilia events, VIP parties, auctions, races and a huge selection of new cars from almost every manufacturer. Many of these events are completely free for visitors.

This year it all kicked off on August 9th and ended on August 18th with two big events: Pebble Beach Festival of Elegance and Pebble Beach RetroAuto, where vintage cars compete for the title of most elegantly designed car.

But a few days ago, everyone was still focused on modern sports cars. And on the way to the peninsula, many were caught violating traffic rules.

Police released a video on social networks showing nine sports cars stopped on the side of the road, including: Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and several Porsches. It’s not clear from the video itself why they were stopped, but the commentary gives us more information. Every car is undoubtedly capable of exceeding the speed limit by miles.

Speeding is dangerous! Speeding is one of the most common traffic violations and a leading cause of death on the road. Yesterday, one of our police officers stopped 9 vehicles for speeding on the SR-1 highway. All drivers were issued tickets

Fortunately, all cars arrived safely at their destinations to be displayed to visitors.
