It’s a tough time to get a quality, affordable mobile phone if we want a new one. Offers are trickling in and finding mid-range (not entry-level) phones like the CMF Phone 1 that cost around 200 euros is becoming increasingly difficult.
OPPO has just launched in Spain the OPPO A80 5G, a mid-range quality-price proposition. A phone that comes with more than interesting features and an enviable overall balance. Of course, the sacrifices made to achieve this price are obvious.

The OPPO A80 5G, although it has a special feature, is coming to Spain with a design reminiscent of its other siblings in the A family. According to OPPO, the body is particularly resistant to damage. In fact, the company claims that the glass on its screen is very, very difficult to break. It has not been detailed whether it is Gorilla Glass or its own technology, but it is a curious statement.
The terminal is finished in aluminum, something we don’t usually see in this series (even phones over 500 euros have no metallic finish lately), something we really appreciate. Like other OPPO phones, it is particularly splash-proof, so it can work even if its screen is wet.
But its real downside is precisely its display. This phone has an HD+ IPS panel, which is far from the 1080p AMOLED that we demand as the minimum for phones in this price range. This is the biggest concession that OPPO has made with this phone, as the rest of the specs are pretty unremarkable.
It has a very new MediaTek 6300, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage configuration, OPPO’s integrated AI that we were able to test on the Reno 12 Pro, and a 50MP main camera. All powered by a 5,100mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
The OPPO A80 arrives in Spain at a price of 249 euros, with its unique 8 GB + 256 GB configuration. It can be purchased from the official OPPO website and from the main distributors of the brand.
