Apple’s next-generation iPhones are usually kept under wraps until their official launch, but a recent leak on Weibo appears to have revealed details about both the upcoming iPhone 16 series and the iPhone SE 4.
The authenticity of these leaks has not yet been confirmed, so we recommend approaching these details with a grain of salt.
iPhone SE 4
Leaked promotional material for the iPhone SE 4 hints at a major design update. The phone is shown to have a larger 6.1-inch display, similar to the iPhone 14, and a notch at the top that houses Face ID.
But the biggest surprise might be the inclusion of the A18 Bionic chip, the same chipset that’s expected to power the iPhone 16 series. If this turns out to be true, the iPhone SE 4 will offer flagship-level performance at an attractive price. The leak suggests a price of around 4,199 yuan (~$599).
While the design of the front panel could mirror the iPhone 14, the leak does not provide details about the back of the phone. Rumors suggest it could retain the single rear camera found on previous SE models.
iPhone 16 Pro
Leaked iPhone 16 Pro marketing material shows the design is barely changed from the iPhone 15 Pro, with the most noticeable difference being the addition of a dedicated camera button on the bottom right.
Rumors have it that the iPhone 16 Pro will be powered by the A18 Pro chip under the hood, a logical upgrade over its predecessor.
The leak also reveals that the phone’s ultrawide camera will feature a 48-megapixel ultrawide sensor with “ultra-thin prism reflection technology.” The technology, which is claimed to be powered by the A18 Pro’s neural network engine, could improve image quality and possibly support features like spatial video for Apple’s Vision Pro headset.
Rumored color options for the iPhone 16 Pro include black, white, blue, and yellow. There’s no mention of a bronze version, so we’re guessing it’ll likely be reserved for the Pro Max model.
According to the latest reports, the iPhone 16 series will go on sale worldwide on September 10. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025.
