ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the arrival in Colombia of the new ROG Ally X, a new version of the popular ROG Ally portable console. Powered by Windows 11 for on-the-go gaming, ROG Ally features, as well as improved cooling and connectivity.
Combined with Armoury Crate SE 1.5, which includes a new customisable game library and unified system updates, ROG Ally X lets you play all your games better than ever.
ROG’s New Ally
ROG Ally Despite the increased battery life, the device is only 70 grams heavier, and the weight distribution is optimized for comfortable portable gaming.
To accommodate the new battery, ROG Ally X is equipped with smaller, more efficient fans that improve airflow. These fans, along with an additional third air outlet, help keep the display temperature 6°C cooler to the touch, delivering superior thermal performance without compromising user comfort.
The battery isn’t the only thing that’s been improved in the new ROG Ally X: While it retains the same processor as the original, this new version of the portable console adds improvements to storage and RAM to enhance its capabilities for next-gen devices. AAA Titles
The new 1TB SSD ensures users have enough space for all their games, which is double the storage of the original Ally (512GB). In addition, ROG Ally
Along with this memory upgrade, the new ROG Ally X now also comes with 24GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM for more flexibility. Like any APU, the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme shares its video memory with the device’s system RAM. Since modern games use more video memory for realistic, high-resolution textures, 24GB of system memory allows users to dedicate more memory to both the system and the GPU for improved performance in next-gen AAA games.
ROG Ally X has a redesigned black chassis with thicker grips and a more rounded shape for greater comfort. The buttons and joysticks have been ergonomically adjusted, and the joysticks have received a more durable module with a lifespan of 5 million cycles, as well as an improved D-Pad for greater precision in games. The rear macro buttons are smaller in size to prevent accidental presses, but still remain accessible.
In response to user requests, the ROG Ally Armoury Crate SE interface has also been improved to offer a console-like experience, with more customisation options and more intuitive management of your game library, control settings and driver updates.
