Motorola has introduced its two most suitable members for the mid-range segment. We are talking about the Motorola Edge 50 and the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, two proposals that want to conquer us in terms of software and technical features. We will examine all the technical features of these models that have a familiar design and a balance that is more than interesting.

This is the Motorola Edge 50

The Motorola Edge 50 is a mid-range device with typical dimensions, more than 16 centimeters tall and a 6.7-inch panel. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, a processor born in 2022 as one of the best mid-range alternatives. This move seems somewhat logical, considering that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is reserved for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.

It is accompanied by quite generous configurations of up to 12 + 512 GB, worthy of the highest range, all powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

In the case of the main camera Sony, the cameras are signed with a powerful Lytia 700C. This is accompanied by an ultra wide angle lens and an optically stabilized 3x telephoto lens.

As icing on the cake, we find the Pantone colors that Motorola has bet on, IP68 and MIL-STD 810H protection and of course 5G connectivity. The phone comes with Android 14 with system updates guaranteed for three years.

This is the Motorola Edge 50 Neo

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo is a very interesting concept. A 6.4-inch phone, much more compact than its sibling. Opt for a MediaTek processor, share the cameras and almost all the hardware of the Edge 50, but there are two important differences.

First, its screen, which is much better than that of the Edge 50. It reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, up from 1,600 nits, a figure worthy of the best phones on the market. It is also a more energy-efficient panel, as it is based on LTPO technology.

The other big change is to the battery, and with a smaller phone there are bound to be physical limitations. This Motorola has a much smaller 4,310mAh capacity compared to the Edge 50’s 5,000mAh. Still, with a more efficient panel and a lower-powered processor the difference shouldn’t be dramatic.

Both phones feature Moto AI to enhance photography. The main features to know about are related to improved 30x zoom, long exposure functions, AI processing, and improved stabilization.
