We are only a few hours away from the famous consumer electronics trade fair IFA in Berlin, which has opened its doors to the public. But the news is already coming out. TCL has introduced its new TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G and 50 PRO NXTPAPER 5G.
These are two almost identical mid-range devices that stand out with interesting screen technologies. Its mission is to offer a viewing experience very similar to paper, without giving up on enjoying the content in full color.

TCL knows screens. The Chinese brand, which has been producing TVs for years, surprised us with a catalogue in 2024 that included panels with different technologies and sizes up to 115 inches. Their new phones have screens 6.8 inch FHD+ and 120Hz refresh rate.
The most notable of these devices is NXTPAPER. According to the manufacturer, this technology allows to automatically adjust the brightness and color temperature so that the images acquire a paper-like style and therefore appear “softer” to the eye.
There is also a mode called Max Ink that we can activate from a dedicated side button. It mimics itself appearance of printed paperreduces battery consumption and increases visibility in extreme lighting conditions, such as sunlight.
Both devices are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chips and have 8GB of RAM. One of the few differences between the standard model and the PRO is in the storage space. The former has 256GB, while the latter has 512GB.
The rear camera configuration of the TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G and 50 PRO NXTPAPER 5G is as follows: a 108MP main camera8 MP ultra-wide camera and 2 MP macro camera. The standard version has an 8 MP front camera, while the PRO has a 32 MP selfie camera.
There is no difference in battery level either. The two models have a capacity of 5,010 mAh and promise a full charge in 1.7 hours. Fast charging is 33 W. Although there are more colors available on the international market, only two will come to Spain: Lunar Grey and Midnight Blue.
TCL has not given an exact date for when its new devices will arrive in Spain. The Chinese company says they will be available “Coming soon” in this market. However, he announced the prices.
