Apple It has launched the long-awaited iPhone 16 series with four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro MaxThe devices are expected to go on sale on September 20. However, it is possible to predict on the eve of the release iPhone 16 Pro It was seen to perform disappointingly on Geekbench.
The news comes from X-user James Atkinson, who spotted the Geekbench listing. It shows the 17.3-inch iPhone scoring 3,114 and 6,666 points in Geekbench 6’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. According to the ID, this model is expected to be the iPhone 16 Pro.
For context, last year iPhone 15The device equipped with the A16 Bionic chip scored 2,595 and 6,651 points in the same test. iPhone 15 ProEquipped with the more powerful A17 Pro, the A17 Pro scored around 2900 and 7440 in the test. So as you can see, the alleged iPhone 16 Pro performs much lower than expected.
However, we should also keep in mind that the phone has not been released yet and Apple is still testing the performance and stability of the phones. If that is the case, we will likely see performance improvements when Apple releases the device.
This year in particular, the non-Pro and Pro models are powered by the A18 and A18 Pro chips, which have some minor differences. Both chips are built on TSMC’s 3nm process and feature 6 CPU cores, while the A18 Pro has one more GPU core (6 vs. 5). This could lead to slightly improved graphics capabilities and better gaming performance on the Pro models.
However, we will have to wait for the official launch before we can further evaluate the raw performance capabilities of the various models as it depends on various factors such as the heat dissipation system which differs between the models.
