Controversy, earrings and conspiracy theory
After Fox News and even top Republican figures conceded that Vice President Kamala Harris won the presidential debate, some supporters of former President Donald Trump are desperately searching for something to hold on to in order not to concede their idol’s defeat. Of course, conspiracy theories come to the rescue.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that such accusations have been made by Republicans against Democrats: we heard it about Joe Biden in 2020, Hillary Clinton in 2016, and Barack Obama in 2012. Each time, all of these theories were debunked.
In Harris’ case, conspiracy theorists claimed on X and other social media platforms that: earplugs were placed inside her earrings. Those looking for devices that fit the description claimed that Harris was using Nova’s H1 Audio Earrings. According to them, these earrings have a directional sound that only the wearer can hear. The product’s Kickstarter page states that it “fits over your earlobes and projects sound through the pearl directly into your ear canal.” Sure, they look a bit like the pearl earrings Harris wears on stage, but These are definitely not the same earrings.
In fact, fashion and makeup bloggers have already identified Harris’ earrings as an $800 Tiffany item:
“Kamala Harris didn’t wear earrings during the debate. She wore $800 worth of Tiffany & Co pearls”says the article.

You can easily see that they have a completely different shape: the stem and size of the pearl are different.
The best argument
The biggest problem with Nova H1 Sound Earrings is, They don’t actually exist. This device was part of a Kickstarter project that disappeared. The earrings are not available for purchase anywhere online and never will be.
Nova Products, the company behind the fundraiser, hasn’t been on Kickstarter since May 2023, and people who donated their money for the devices now have neither the money nor the earrings.
