Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 4 has been seen before with the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, so testing the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with the same SoC was only a matter of time.

Samsung’s rejection of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 suggests that the problematic SoC and the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 will mitigate these issues due to mass production on the excellent 4nm TSMC architecture. If you look at the screenshot taken with Geekbench, the device has 12 GB of RAM. The fastest core likely runs at 3.20 GHz as stated by Qualcomm.

Other cores are also listed at the stated speeds, but it is not yet known whether they will run at these frequencies when the Galaxy Z Fold 4 runs some resource-intensive applications. As for the device itself, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has model number SM-F936U, runs Android 12 and scores 1351 and 3080 in single-core and multi-core modes, respectively.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 scored lower than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 despite having the same Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, so whether some optimizations are regular or if a more expensive and sophisticated smartphone better controls the chipset, it’s still still Unknown. However, compared to the Dimensity 9000, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 lags behind in both single-core and multi-core mode, as the flagship SoC MediaTek is now the second fastest SoC for smartphones.
