Apple introduced the phone call recording and transcription feature with iOS 18.1 Beta 4. brings it to more iPhone models. This feature, which started coming to older iPhone models with the new beta version, has now reached the iPhone 14 Pro. According to user reports, many people say that they are able to use the feature even on iPhone XS after the update. This means that a greater number of iPhone users will be able to take advantage of the ability to record and transcribe phone calls.
When making a call after the iOS 18.1 Beta 4 update on iPhone models that support this feature, you can start audio recording by tapping an icon in the upper-left corner of the Phone app. When recording starts, a voice alert will be automatically sent to all call participants to inform them that the call is being recorded. The recording of the conversation is also saved in the Notes application and thus the written text of the record can be obtained. Thus, users can choose to read what is spoken.
It will also be possible to get summaries with Apple Intelligence

If you have an Apple Intelligence supported phone, such as the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or iPhone 16 series, you can also get the AI-generated summary of the conversation, but apart from this summary feature, Apple Intelligence is not required for basic recording and transcribing functions.
The new feature is currently available in multiple languages in the US, Australia, Mexico, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Previous beta builds of iOS 18.1 limited the feature to models supported by Apple Intelligence, but with iOS 18.1 beta 4, iPhone models compatible with iOS 18, including the iPhone XS series and later, can take advantage of this innovation.
The feature currently does not support the Turkish language. For this reason, we must point out that it cannot provide stable performance when transcribing the conversations. Apple plans to expand the feature to all supported languages in the future.
