Why did directors choose iPhone 15 Pro Max?

Boyle is joined on the film by Anthony Dod Mantle as director of photography. The duo previously won an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire . Now they’ve resorted to a more interesting method and used the iPhone 15 Pro Max in such a film. Of course, there’s a technology story behind why Boyle and Mantle chose the iPhone 15.

Now, these two want to show that the iPhone 15 can also be used in a feature film in the cinematic field.

Apple supported the shooting with equipment

Apple supported the director’s decision not only with his iPhone 15 Pro Max, but also by providing technical support for the film. A lot of extra equipment was used during the filming of the film which you can see in the image above.

28 Days Later is set to release in June 2025 and is likely to play a key role in bringing the revolution that Apple’s cameras have sparked in iPhones to the big screen.
