Apple deals with a failed series launch iPhone 16Even the Pro model saw lower-than-expected demand, but things appear to be getting worse for the brand as iPhone 16 Pro owners complain about screen issues on their $1,000 phones.
Users can view the screens of their models iPhone 16 Pro stop responding. This news first emerged on Reddit after iPhone 16 Pro owners complained about touchscreen issues on their devices. It appears that the 2024 iPhone’s screens are not responding to accidental touches. This issue mostly occurs on the right half of the screen, which also houses the new camera button.
Many people believed that this new button could be the cause of this problem. Users claimed that the touch screen is unresponsive when their hand touches the camera button. Therefore, if your hand accidentally presses the camera button, the screen lags or does not work at all. The freezing on the Apple iPhone 16 Pro is temporary, but the main panel is not affected. Although the problem is from the right half, the display is unresponsive on all four sides of the screen.
Considering that users can’t swipe or tap but the home bar remains the same, the issue could be related to the iPhone’s software. There’s even a feature called “Palm Rejection” that Chaos Tian showed off on Mastodon. As the name suggests, it disables all touch inputs on the iPhone 16 to reject unwanted actions. The issue doesn’t seem to affect older models, as the iPhone 13 mini, which also has palm rejection, shows how it doesn’t experience such an experience. The question is. While the faulty camera button issue requires a hardware fix, Apple could probably fix it with an update if it’s the palm rejection algorithm.
