MediaTek introduced its new flagship processor Dimensity 9400. Dimensity 9400, which was recently revealed to be used in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, focuses on a 35% increase in power compared to the previous generation and artificial intelligence features.

Dimensity 9400 has four Cortex-X4 cores, the fastest of which runs at 3.62 GHz. It also features Cortex-A720 cores that have been improved for efficiency, and these cores run at 2.4 GHz compared to 2.0 GHz in previous models. The chip uses TSMC’s N3E process technology, which delivers up to 40% more energy efficiency. It also offers a 44% efficiency improvement in graphics processing power with the new Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU.

What does it offer technically?

Among the hardware improvements of the Dimensity 9400 there are also major improvements in the memory structure. In addition to the 100% increased L2 and 50% increased L3 cache capacity, it uses a 10.7 Gbps LPDDR5X memory interface. This contributes to faster performance of phones using Dimensity 9400 as less RAM is required.

MediaTek stated that this new processor achieved 3,055 points in the single-core test and 9,600 points in the multi-core test in Geekbench 6.2. In the AnTuTu benchmark test it reached 2.8 million. states.

Will be able to offer cloud-enabled artificial intelligence features

One of the most notable innovations is the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) feature that comes with the new “Agentic AI Engine”. This is on the phone AI features such as LoRA training and high-quality video production It has the distinction of being the first mobile processor to make this possible.

MediaTek also plans to create a platform called “Agentic Apps Store” to ensure artificial intelligence processes work more effectively, both on-device and in the cloud. In this way, smartphone manufacturers will be able to access certain artificial intelligence processes via the cloud.
