This started to change in 2024, with manufacturers such as Huawei betting on 5,200 mAh in the Pura 70 Ultra, 5,400 mAh in the OnePlus 12, and 5,600 mAh in other models such as the Honor Magic6 Pro. Despite this, no one dared. magic figure, 6,000mAh.

Vivo opened the season this week with 6,000mAh, making it one of the few high-end phones with this figure. We have also seen similar offerings before, such as the Nubia Z60 Ultra or IQOO Z9 Turbo+ with capacities of 6,000 and 6,400 mAh respectively.

However, these phones are increasingly becoming exceptions. The latest mid-range offering from Moto, the Motorola Moto G64, also has a capacity of 6,000 mAh. Rumors similarly suggest that the OnePlus 13 will have a 6,000mAh battery.

While not mainstream yet, 6,000mAh is starting to become a trend. On paper, it’s a barbaric enough figure to allow any phone to survive a busy day with almost any use. 2025 will be a litmus test, if China’s top brass start democratizing them, that will be the standard to aspire to.
