Company asus ROG confirmed that the Phone 9 series gaming smartphones will be launched in the global market on November 19. Initial leaks have already revealed important details about the device.

K-Tai Watch Impress Japan recently shared a report confirming that the ROG Phone 9 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is expected to deliver high-performance gaming capabilities. Based on what we’ve seen in benchmarks of other smartphones using the Snapdragon 8 Elite, we can expect a significant increase in the performance of this device over its predecessor. It is also reported that the device will reduce power consumption by up to 30% thanks to the new chip.

A hands-on video of the device was also leaked; This video shows a higher quality build and hints at improved materials and design over the previous model. The overall design language will remain similar to the ROG Phone 8. Further details regarding design changes and additional features are still limited. ROG Phone 9 Pro was previously spotted on the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) listing with 65W charging, which is the same as the existing ROG Phone 8 series. While we wait for the specs to improve, there’s also a possibility that Asus will focus on it. We’re just improving things like Air triggers and thermal management on the gaming side. In terms of cameras, it has a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor along with a 32MP front camera for selfies. The phone is powered by a 5500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. Additional gaming-focused features include responsive AirTrigger buttons, IP68 dust and water protection, and a high-quality 5-magnet speaker system.
