The most important feature of the new Mac Mini

The device now includes the latest M4 chip, supports ray tracing for the first time, and comes with 16 gigabytes of RAM by default; This seems to be the new normal in the age of Apple Intelligence. The Verge writes that the price of a computer with a regular M4 chip still starts at $599, while the more powerful M4 Pro model starts at $1,399.

Like the updated iMac announced yesterday, the Mac Mini is available for pre-order now and will arrive in stores on November 8.

The first thing you’ll notice is the new design. The Mini has shrunk significantly in size, and you can see that in the direct comparisons in Apple’s video. It was already a relatively small desktop computer, but now it has become quite small – each side is only 12 centimeters in size.

The company says this is due to the M4’s efficiency and “innovative thermal architecture that directs air to different levels of the system,” while all ventilation is provided through a flat “stand” that covers nearly the entire bottom area and can also be used as a stand.

Despite its reduced size, Apple has equipped the computer with numerous inputs/outputs:

• Ahead two USB-C ports and 3.5mm audio jack.
• 10 Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and three Thunderbolt ports.
• USB-A ports are finally history.

The speed of Thunderbolt ports will vary depending on the M4 processor you choose. While the regular M4 chip supports Thunderbolt 4, the M4 Pro provides the latest Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth.

• The M4 Pro Mac Mini also offers higher overall performance thanks to 14 processing cores and 20 graphics cores.
• Amount of RAM can be selected up to 32 gigabytes normal M4 or up to 64 gigabytes On M4 Pro.
• The volume of the drive reaches 8 terabytes.

All this makes the Mac Mini a very powerful machine if you’re willing to spend enough money for the extra features.
