Apple launched the iPhone 16 series in recent months and all eyes have been on the iPhone 17 series for a while now. According to new information, the iPhone 17 series, which will be released next year, will eliminate the difference in screen refresh rate between Pro models and standard models.
According to the ETNews report, all iPhone 17 models feature ProMotion technology There will be LTPO screens with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This means that even the standard models of the iPhone 17 will offer a smoother screen experience. Apple will take the user experience to the next level by bringing the high refresh rate, which has long been exclusive to Pro models, to standard models.
Standard iPhones now support 120 Hz

In previous iPhone models, ProMotion displays were only offered on the iPhone 13 Pro and later Pro models, and standard models were limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. With this move, Apple also offers high refresh rate and smoothness. Android is trying to increase competition with flagships.
The inclusion of LTPO screen technology in the iPhone 17 series is important as it offers a more dynamic screen experience while also contributing to battery life. LTPO saves energy by adapting the screen refresh rate to the content, thanks to its low-temperature polycrystalline oxide technology. As is known, this technology, which we started seeing after the iPhone 14 Pro models, could reduce the refresh rate to 1 Hz.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to be released in fall 2025. It is also among the information that in order to reduce costs in the new series, Apple’s Wi-Fi 7 chip, produced with TSMC’s 7nm technology, will be used instead of the Broadcom chip.
