WhatsApp offers a new feature in the new beta version that allows users to search on an image they receive via Google.

Thanks to the new feature coming to the application WhatsApp users can search for images sent to them on the Internet and will be able to find out if it has previously appeared on other websites or social media platforms. The feature is very important for verifying information and finding the main source of the images.

New visual search function is being tested

According to the information shared by WABetaInfo, the new visual search feature is available in version 2.24.23.13 of WhatsApp and is currently being tested by users in the beta program.

Users who want to use the feature can open an image by tapping the three-dot menu at the top of the screen access the options. When they select the ‘Search the Web’ option from this menu, the image will be sent directly to Google Image Search. WhatsApp states that during this process, the image will not be shared with any third-party application or program other than Google or Meta.

According to WhatsApp, this new feature is activated via the server, so some users may not see this feature yet even if they are using the most recent version. The feature is expected to be available to all users over time.
