Huawei finally confirms the launch date of the upcoming flagship series Mate 70. Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) CEO Richard Yu made a surprise announcement during an interview at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show and announced that the new phones will be introduced on November 26.

The hardware that powers these devices is shrouded in mystery. According to reports, the smartphone will be powered by a new HiSilicon Kirin chip, tentatively named Kirin 9100. The chip is said to be manufactured by SMIC using a 6nm process and can offer performance comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
The Mate 70 series is expected to retain the iconic round camera module with four camera sensors arranged in a square shape. However, the module can be integrated into a round or elliptical island to add a unique visual element. Although we are not sure about the accuracy of the leak, an image of the phone has also appeared online.
Following the trend of silicon-carbon batteries offering higher capacity, Huawei may also adopt a similar technology. Apart from the standard model, the Mate 60 series included a 6000mAh battery with 88W fast charging.
