The Circle to Search feature, which is popular on Pixel and Samsung devices, has finally come to Oppo smartphones. Essentially a spinoff of Google Lens, this tool allows for effortless on-screen searches. Here’s how it works: You take a temporary screenshot, circle an object or area, and let Google do a reverse search.
This feature was first introduced on flagship devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 8 earlier this year. It has since expanded to other brands, including Honor and Xiaomi. Oppo is now set to join the club and will launch it alongside its latest ColorOS 15 software, which is likely to launch alongside the Find X8 series on November 21, 2024.
Why is this so important? Because Circle to Search is not just a basic search. You can use it to translate text, identify songs playing in the background, or recognize objects. Whether you spot a trendy item while shopping online or need a quick translation while traveling, this feature has you covered.
The timing of its launch coincides perfectly with Oppo’s global launch of the Find Adding Circle to Search to the mix will make Oppo’s ecosystem even more competitive.
