ZTE’s most powerful arm, Nubia, announced its new product Nubia Z70 Ultra. This is a very high-end, high-end smartphone whose spec sheet can be summed up as “take my hand”. Screen? A giant OLED. Processor? The most powerful on the market. Internal display? Under the camera. RAM memory? Up to 24GB LPDDR5x. Artificial intelligence? Whatever you like.
And so on everything.
It’s a device that, at least on paper, has all the ingredients to be one of next year’s top-end devices. And it aims to achieve this by relying on raw power, a variable aperture camera and 35mm lens, and for a price starting from 600 euros. That said, let’s get to know him better.

Very big. We’re starting with the most obvious, which is that the Nubia Z70 Ultra is a pretty big device. Since its height is 164.3 millimeters, its thickness is 8.6 mm and its weight is 228 grams, it is a mobile phone that is not suitable for small hands. We have dedicated cameras at the back. In the upper left corner we have the main lens, while the wide angle and periscope are hidden in the black band. It’s an odd aesthetic to say the least, but the result is truly appealing.
The screen looks brutal. Let’s talk about the screen when viewed from the outside. Nubia partnered with BOE to develop this 6.85-inch Q9+ OLED panel, 144Hz, up to 2000 nits of brightness, and a trick: some transparency in the upper area so the front camera can see. Because yes, the camera is under the screen. Nubia worked really well on bezels that were just 1.25 millimeters, so we had a screen that took up 95.3% of the front.

An SoC fresh out of the oven. Nubia has incorporated Qualcomm’s newest product, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, to bring this device to life. This SoC gets flagship power and promises a smooth experience as long as the OS and cooling know how to tame it. In any case, performance must be outstanding in both heavy tasks, games and daily applications.
The amount of RAM is 24 GB LPDDR5x; this is one of the highest figures we’ve seen on a smartphone (four and six gigabyte They seemed the best to us) and the internal storage remains at 1TB UFS 4.0. As you might expect, the most powerful version has plenty of capacity, but the most modest version doesn’t come up short either: 12/256GB.

Operating system and battery. We’re looking at a device that comes out of the factory with Nebula AI OS based on Android 15 pre-installed. This system owes its name to artificial intelligence, and Nubia has introduced a number of rather interesting functions, such as real-time translation (including Spanish), automatically generated subtitles and photo creation and editing functions. This year, and especially next year, will be the year of productive AI on mobile phones, and we can already see where things are heading.
When it comes to the battery, Nubia has not skimped on anything yet again. The Chinese company has installed a 6,150 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W fast charging via cable. However, we can also charge wirelessly at 50W power, and if we wish, we can charge other devices using 10W reverse wireless charging.

main room. Nubia Z70 Ultra has a 35-millimeter lens with variable aperture. In short, the lens can go from f/1.59 to f/4.0 (at nine stops) to let more or less light in, achieving effects like greater sharpness and more natural bokeh in portraits. It’s definitely not a new technology, but it’s the first time it’s been implemented in this way.
When it comes to sensors, the device has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel OV50D wide-angle sensor (up to 2.5cm) that acts as a macro sensor, and a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor. three optical magnifications and OIS.
That camera cannot be seen. As the hallmark of the house, the Nubia Z70 Ultra chooses to hide the camera under the screen. This is the seventh generation to do this, and the company claims it improves performance by 30%: This is made possible thanks to the memory in the layer covering the camera and the sharpness algorithm that reduces noise and increases sharpness.
Tablets, mobile phones, game consoles, laptops… It’s a very busy Black Friday at Back Market. Choose your renewed offer and you can win too €20 extra renewing your old mobile phone.
