After a series of sources and rumors OnePlus It has officially confirmed that the next devices in the Ace series will be launched in China in December this year. The model range includes two models: the standard Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro.

The teaser image shows the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, but the company has not yet confirmed which phone will have this chip. Ace 5 Pro is likely to run on this SoC.

OnePlus is expected to reveal more features and announce the official launch date soon. Meanwhile, Ace 5 retail packaging has already appeared on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform. The box features the classic OnePlus red design with bold black ‘Ace’ text on the top.

Now let’s look at the rumored specifications for both contenders. The standard Ace 5 is expected to feature a respectable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a smooth 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE display with LTPO technology, and a powerful 16GB LPDDR5X RAM paired with 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

In the camera department, whispers point to a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor complemented by 8MP and 2MP secondary lenses. According to rumors, in addition to a powerful battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh to 6500 mAh, 100 W fast charging support is also provided to ensure charging during the day. Ace 5 Pro is said to be powered by the best-in-class Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The display stays in 1.5K BOE X2 LTPO territory but with the added benefit of ultra-narrow bezels for truly immersive viewing.

While details regarding the camera setup remain unclear, we can expect a triple sensor setup with a 50MP primary sensor, but unfortunately there is no periscope lens for super zoom enthusiasts. Battery capacity varies between 6,200 mAh and 6,300 mAh and it also has 100W fast charging support. To top it all off, the Ace 5 Pro is said to feature a right-angled metal frame with chamfered corners, giving it a boxy and modern aesthetic.
