Startup Carl Pey, Nothing was introduced last year. In July, the company introduced the Nothing Ear (1) TWS earphones as its first product. It stood out among other TWS earphones as it has a translucent design. Last month, the brand confirmed that its first smartphone called Nothing Phone (1) will be introduced on July 12. The back of the device was opened yesterday. A practical video on Marquez Brownlee’s Nothing Phone (1) has now been released on YouTube, showcasing its entire design in all its glory. Unfortunately, it doesn’t say anything about the technical specifications of the device.

The front of Nothing Phone (1) looks like any other Android smartphone. It has an AMOLED panel with symmetrical bezels.

When you turn the device to the back, you can see its unique design. The LED lines on the back of the device are called “glyph interface” brand. It is decorated with more than 900 individual LEDs. Brownlee showed all the LEDs flashing for messages. The C-shaped LED strip will flash during wireless charging or reverse wireless charging.

The LED strip at the bottom works as a charging indicator. All bands can flash simultaneously to act as a flash for the camera. Also on the rear panel is a red LED with recording indicator. The device has a special Glyph interface setting to adjust the brightness of the LED strips.

Nothing Phone (1) has 10 ringtones. Each ringtone has a light pattern that syncs with the ringtone. Users can combine ringtones with specific contacts. The company is expected to add more lightweight templates for messages from various programs via software updates when the device is announced. Source
