If we are going to give a mobile phone to our grandparents, the first thing we should think about is screen size or keys if they are not tactile. A small mobile phone is a mistake because it will be difficult for them to read texts and other elements on the panel.

In case we do not want to give a smartphone as a gift, key size and the ease of pressing them is very important. In this latter case, I usually also make sure the phone has a configurable SOS key so I can immediately call my emergency contact.

Battery Another point I pay most attention to. The heaviest users are used to charging the phone several times a day, but for older people the ideal is to comfortably go through the day of use and charge it as little as possible.

WhatsApp Finally, the barrier we separate is whether a smartphone is needed or not. If our eldest can chat without any problems, we will prefer a simple phone that he can call and send WhatsApp messages to. If using applications will be difficult for you, the bet is on a traditional mobile phone.

The following three options are current smartphones but are especially suitable for older people. They are easy to configure, have a good balance between display and battery, and are operating system friendly.

If we look for Samsung’s equivalent to the Xiaomi Redmi 13, we find the new Samsung Galaxy M15 5G. It is a shining phone with a 6.5 inch screen, a very classic design, and a 6,000mAh battery.

I especially like Samsung that the software is very easy to use and any user quickly gets used to its interface. App for calls, contacts, settings… everything is very visual and this is especially important when we want to buy a phone for an elderly person.

Motorola Moto G24

And finally, we have the Motorola Moto G24 for under 100 euros. It is the cheapest smartphone on the list, with a 6.56-inch HD + screen, 5,000 mAh battery and everything necessary for the most basic use.

It’s the cheapest phone because it’s the fairest in terms of specs, but it’s a phone worth considering if what you’re looking for is the most balanced option at the lowest possible price.
