Realme made one of the most curious announcements of the end of this year: one of its star phones in the mid-high segment will change color in the cold. We are talking about Realme 14 Pro, a terminal that will compete directly with Xiaomi’s Redmi family and Samsung Galaxy A.

One of their main assets will be the design and they wanted to take advantage of this to give it a feature that has never been seen before. Realme 14 Pro series in collaboration with Scandinavian industrial design studio Valeur Designers Will be sensitive to temperature changes.

How did they achieve this? Realme explains that the phone will use a system thermochromic pigments Those that respond to changes in temperature. Especially when the temperature drops below 16°C, the back of the phone will turn from pearl white to vibrant blue.

As the cold decreases blue will become more intense. Realme itself notes that due to the nature of thermochromic fiber, this feature may “gradually diminish” with regular use.

The company also predicts that the phone will come with quad curved displays, similar to what we saw on the Realme GT7 Pro, with a preliminary usage of almost 94%. It will also come with a triple camera, triple flash for night portraits, and IP68/IP69 certifications for water resistance up to 1.5 meters.

This phone will be introduced in the first quarter of 2024 and there is currently no news about its technical specifications or features.
