YouTube’s biggest technology blogger, Marques Brownlee, published his personal summaries of the year, choosing the best devices in the smartphone market. Of course, this is just one person’s opinion, but his large audience and influence make this list worth at least a look.
And the blogger’s smartphone of the year unexpectedly became the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is almost a year old. Brownlee said he used the device more than others throughout the year, but that was partly because it came out at the beginning of the year. The author also noted the excellent anti-reflective coating of the screen, good autonomy, cameras and everything else.
As for the other candidates, they look like this:
- Gadget of the Year — Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra
- Improvement of the Year – Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
- The best foldable smartphone is Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
- Best design — Huawei Mate XT
- Best autonomy — Red Magic 10 Pro
- Best value for money is the Nothing Phone 2a
- The best camera is iPhone 16 Pro
- The best small phone is the iPhone 16
- The best big phone is the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
On a separate note, Brownlee has one of the largest tech YouTube channels, but not the largest. At the same time, when you look at the statistics, almost all of the channels with more subscribers are from India and have very few views. The only channel that can compete with Brownlee is Unbox Therapy, with 24.8 million subscribers compared to 19.7 million. At Brownlee. But Brownlee’s videos are viewed on average three times more, which makes it possible to call the channel the largest in the subject.
