Technically speaking, the Jetson One is a big quadcopter. It has a cabin, eight propellers, a joystick and a pair of pedals. Nothing revolutionary at first glance, but this is the world’s first electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), already flying to work.

The company’s director, Tomasz Patan, shot a short, seemingly promotional video in which he easily jumps into an airplane seat in the backyard, rises into the air, and soars directly onto the landing near the workshop.

Of course, few people have their own playground in the garden, there are no neighbors and buildings nearby, and from home to work – a forest and fields, not streets and roads with cars and pedestrians. The route also ends in a convenient place – this is almost another home in the wilderness.

The explanation for the “world’s first electric cool car” is probably debatable. The fact is that the head of the Chinese company eHang Hu Huaji showed a video of him three years ago when he flew to work on an aircraft. However, the flight started not right next to his home, but on the platform a few hundred meters away. On the other hand, the eHang can fly autonomously, while the Jetson One can only hover above the ground in autonomous mode.

Commercial flights with airships

Special aircraft will not soon appear in the courtyards of residents of the cities of the World, but very soon it will be possible to use an airship to fly between the cities of Spain. Yes, Air Nostrum plans to launch regional flights on hybrid airships by 2026.

They ordered a batch of 10 aircraft from the manufacturer – British Hybrid Air Vehicles. The length of the routes will be up to 425 kilometers, and the cargo of an airship will be up to 100 passengers. Airplane flights will reduce CO2 emissions by 90% compared to conventional airplanes.
