UK resident Owain Davies told reporters his reunion story with his iPhone XR, which he dropped in the river about 10 months ago.
Davis dropped his iPhone in the River Wye near Cinderford, Gloucestershire while canoeing in August 2021. The Briton was very upset and did not even expect to see his smartphone again, but after almost a year the device was safely returned to its owner.
The fact is that in early June 2022, a resident of Gloucestershire discovered the iPhone XR at the bottom of the river. He took the smartphone, dried it and posted the photos on the Internet. After drying, the iPhone charged and turned on. The man who found the device was able to quickly identify its owner, thanks to the wallpaper on the desktop – there was a family photo.
