Counterpoint Research analysts shared data on premium smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2022. It turned out that almost two-thirds of all flagships sold are iPhones.

The premium smartphone in the report meant any device that costs $400. Therefore, the rating includes the Galaxy A53 5G and the iPhone SE. Compared to the first quarter of 2021, Apple’s share increased by only five percent. The gap with competitors like Samsung and Xiaomi has widened. As a result, 62% of global premium smartphone sales fell to Apple.

iPhone 13 is currently the most popular smartphone in the world. The model accounts for nearly one out of every four purchases. The iPhone 13 Pro Max took second place, with the iPhone 13 Pro accounting for 9% of world sales. Together, these three iPhone 13 models account for 45% of the premium market. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra became the best-selling flagship on Android.
