Oppo plans to launch a new budget A-series smartphone in the Chinese market soon. The new device in question is the A97 5G model, the design of which has been revealed through a listing spotted on China Telecom.

As the name suggests, the Oppo A97 5G is the successor to the A96 that was launched in China earlier this year. Looking at China Telecom’s listing, the A97 5G will have a dual camera setup on the back. The image shows that the back panel has a matte finish, while the area around the camera module has a glossy finish. The primary sensor in this phone is a 48 megapixel sensor and the secondary sensor is a 2 megapixel sensor.

Meanwhile, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The leaked image also shows that the device has a flat frame. This model also has a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the front, the phone sports a 6.56-inch FHD+ display. Under the hood, a massive 5,000mAh battery powers the device, which weighs around 190 grams.

As far as we know, Oppo A97 5G will come in two storage configurations including 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB variant. The device will also be available in multiple color options, including Silent Night Black, Sea Blue and Cherry Blossom. The listing also states that the model with 12 GB of RAM will cost 2,299 yuan (about $343).
