Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Fold 4 has been approved by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The smartphone has model number SM-F936U and while Qualcomm’s FCC listing with Smart Transmit for enhanced uplink doesn’t reveal much about the device, it does reveal that the smartphone will support any type of network from 2G to mmWave 5G. . The Wi-Fi model will also receive an update that includes ax support. The FCC listing also reveals that the device will support the S Pen, just like the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 4 along with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 on August 4, but there is no official confirmation. When it comes to the certification space, rumors and sources of information, there’s no doubt that the launch is imminent. In addition to FCC certification, the Z Fold 4 was recently spotted on GeekBench. Mockups of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 cases have recently been made available for pre-order, confirming the launch is just around the corner.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM. The phone will also pack up to 1TB of storage and a 4,400mAh battery under the hood. The Fold 4 was previously said to have a less noticeable notch and a better camera setup than the Fold 3.
