Snapdragon 778+ boosts efficiency, falls short of power

Nowadays, it is very easy to find mobile phones with 8 GB of RAM. It’s not much with 12GB, but Nothing will only offer it in the higher version. The same goes for storage, where all phones in this comparison start at 128GB. The biggest difference is in the processor and here Nothing can bet on something a little more modern though more limited.

The Nothing Phone (1) Snapdragon 778G+ is a modification of the 778G to add wireless charging. As expected, all mobile phones are 5G. Although its competitors prefer the Snapdragon 870 or the new MediaTek Dimensity.

The processor of choice for nothing is not a step back from the Snapdragon 870, but Better efficiency as it is produced at 6 nanometersCompared to the 7 nanometers on the 870.

At the software level, Nothing bets on a clean layer of customization. a Strategy different from the one adopted by brands like Xiaomi or OPPO. OnePlus is also moving towards a model with more customization over time. Nothing OS newcomer. We’ll have to see how it evolves over time.

More cameras are not always better

Instead of adding multiple sensors for wide angle and macro, Nothing chooses a strategy more like Apple or Google’s and opt for the 50-megapixel dual sensor. While technically these sensors are similar to those offered by brands like Samsung or OPPO, we’ll have to see how the quality of these cameras is. In fact, the cheaper OnePlus Nord 2 5G adds the same main sensor.

It doesn’t particularly stand out on the front camera, finding us with the 16-megapixel sensor that we’ve also seen on the Realme model.

Reasonable price, waiting for offers

The Nothing Phone (1) costs 469 Euros. Not the bargain price many are expecting, but fits perfectly with what the competition has. A mobile phone for less than 500 euros. Of course, as we’ve seen on days like Prime Day, Nothing has room to drop its mobile significantly. The Nothing Phone (1) is a great phone and the price is right, but it’s far from on par with what OnePlus has been doing back in the day.
