Nothing recently released the company’s first Android smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1). The phone has been one of the most talked about smartphones lately, but it’s certainly not without its share of problems. Buyers who pre-ordered the device on Flipkart have started receiving them, and some are already reporting a number of issues with the device. Some Nothing Phone (1) devices seem to be experiencing various hardware-level issues.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the green tint issue is “nothing new” for companies producing devices with AMOLED panels. Nothing Phone (1) has been added to the list of mobile phones that have suffered the same fate in the past. As the name suggests, the green tint issue is causing the device’s screen to malfunction as the dark parts of the screen turn green.
A customer who purchased the Nothing Phone (1) via Flipkart had to return the phone in hopes of getting a problem-free device, but the replacement phone faced the same issue. These are clear signs of poor quality control in the manufacturing process.
Aside from the green tint issue, many people also have issues with faulty selfie cameras. In particular, most Nothing Phone (1) devices now have a punch-hole selfie camera that looks much more advanced.
It’s a bit disappointing to see such issues on the brand’s pilot smartphone, although the Nothing team has already acknowledged the issues and affected buyers will likely get a replacement unit. The company has yet to release official instructions on what users should do if the Nothing Phone (1) is experiencing similar issues. We can only hope that these issues will not be present in the upcoming Nothing Phones (1) series. Source
