Asus today officially unveiled its Zenfone 9 flagship smartphone. Almost all the rumors about this model, including its price, have been confirmed: in Europe, the Zenfone 9 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory is asking for 800 euros. Other options are 8/256GB for €850 and 16/256GB for €900.
The dimensions of the novelty are 146.5×68.1×9.1 mm. Not counting its thickness, the Zenfone 9 is more compact than its predecessor, the Zenfone 8 (148×68.5×8.9 mm) and the iPhone 13 (146.7×71.5×7.7 mm). The Zenfone 9 weighs 169 grams.
The novelty received an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 5.9 inches, a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a frame rate of 120 Hz. The maximum brightness is 1100 cd/m². The screen occupies 90.02% of the front panel area and 112% of the DCI-P3 color space. Screen protection is provided by tempered glass Gorilla Glass Victus.
Zenfone 9 is built on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and is the most compact smartphone in Qualcomm’s premium SoC. It is distinguished from most other flagships by the presence of a standard headphone jack. Zenfone 9 is also well protected against dust and water according to its IP68 rating. The battery capacity was 4300 mAh, the maximum charging power was 30 W.
There are two modules in the main camera. Sony IMX766 with 50 MP resolution, which is widely used in high and mid-range models, is mainly used. The module includes a wide-angle lens and a 6-axis stabilizer. In the additional module – a 12-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens, it is also used for macro shooting.
