The watch will be created in collaboration with French Col&MacArthur and NASA and will be dedicated to the Perseverance rover mission. We’ll remind you that the rover has been searching for signs of life in the Martian crater Jezero since 2021.

RED 3,721 watches will have a distinctive design:

• NASA logo will be applied to the body,
• the background of the dial will repeat the terrain of Mars,
• the hull will have a capsule containing samples of Martian soil.

As for the latter, the soil was extracted from a Martian meteorite that flew to Earth.

The creators of the watch paid attention to detail. They “filled” the clock with a series of curiosities sent on the mission of perseverance.

For example, there are numbers 1 to 7 on the side of the dial – this “7 minute horror” hint – a period of time when the rover reenters the atmosphere, the AI-based system corrects the trajectory and pops up. parachute and the “Sky Crane” mechanism performs the descent of the device to the surface of the Red Planet.

The back cover of the watch is decorated with the image of the parachute Perseverance used to land on Mars. There’s also a hidden gem – the lines repeating the pattern of the clock on the parachute – a cryptic message from the NASA team – “Dare to the strong things” (“Dare for great things”).

Other interesting facts about the watch

• The name of the watch is also capitalized. RED stands for the abbreviated name of Mars. The number “3.721” corresponds to the gravitational force of the planet observed during the NASA mission.
• An important date is engraved at 12 o’clock – February 18 – on this day Perseverance landed on the moon.
• The coordinates of the perseverance probe’s landing site are also marked near the capsule where the Martian dust will be placed.
• To make this watch even rarer, the company offers to send the purchased RED3.721 into near space at an altitude of 30 kilometers. In direct contact with an environment close to -60°C and a pressure close to 0.

The watch will have protection against diving – 10 ATM.

As stated in INTERSTELLAR, each hour will be numbered, but exactly how many copies will be made is not yet known.

The minimum price of the watch will be 399 Euros and it will be released in November. So far, the company has raised €750,000 through a crowdfunding campaign.
