Huawei Mate 50 Pro variable aperture camera shown live

Yesterday, the first spy photos of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro were published in a special protective case, which does not allow us to evaluate the design of the main camera, but provides other valuable information.

In the upper right corner is the main camera with a variable aperture lens. We’ve seen something similar on the Samsung Galaxy S9, which allows you to change the aperture (F1.5/F2.4).

There is a wide-angle lens in the upper left corner, a 3.5x telephoto lens in the lower right corner, and a ToF module in the lower left corner. The camera will likely be placed in a circular module, as in renders.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro Real Spy Photos Revealed: Variable Aperture Camera Returns

Huawei’s variable aperture is most likely based on its own proprietary technology. That year, Huawei applied for a patent titled “aperture, camera module, and electronic device.” The patent shows that Huawei uses at least 6 movable aperture blades to adjust the amount of light entering the camera.
