Starting next year, smartphones will be able to connect directly to Starlink satellites.

The new deal was announced at an event hosted by T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert and Elon Musk. With the “Over and Beyond Coverage” setting, mobile phones will be able to connect to satellites that provide a speed of about 2 to 4 megabits per second in a given coverage area.
